Former CPL Distribution depot sold in £1.7m deal
Leading commercial property consultancy Commercial Property Partners LLP (CPP) has facilitated the sale of a 3.6-acre site to a major logistics company in a £1.7M deal.
Acting on behalf of vendor Strawsons Property, CPP sold the former CPL Distribution depot on the South Leicester Industrial Estate in Coalville, which closed in October 2018. Loughborough based commercial property consultants Mather Jamie acted on behalf of the purchaser.
The site has been sold to a major logistics operator who will eventually utilise the site as a container and transport depot, benefitting from the site’s proximity to J22 of the M1.
Commenting on the deal, Stuart Waite, Partner at CPP said: “We are pleased to have concluded this sale on behalf of our client, at a price which reflects the shortage of ‘oven ready’ industrial/logistics plots available in the market.
“This site presented a great opportunity for an owner occupier, with it being fully serviced and predominantly hardstanding - perfect for a land hungry haulage operator, and situated only minutes from J22 of the M1.”
Adam Jones at Strawsons Property said: “Having looked at several options for the site along with the team at CPP we decided on a sale strategy - and are delighted to have achieved a price which has resulted in an excellent return on investment for Strawsons.”
East Midlands firm Mather Jamie acted on behalf of the purchaser. Alex Reid from Mather Jamie, added: “Having identified it as suitable for their requirements we were able to secure the site following a competitive bids situation, and completed quickly. The key to our client was the location given the areas superb transport links and proximity to the established logistics location of Bardon.”
